Hi, I’m Katie (she/her).
I’m glad you’re here. The therapeutic relationship is unique, in that it is a space where both of us can really focus on you and your needs. In my experience, knowing a little about me can help that process feel more comfortable.
Being a therapist was not my first career, and I am so glad I took a chance at beginning again. I love Kansas City, knitting, listening to audiobooks, and – here’s where I might lose some of you – a crispy fountain Diet Coke. I make jokes and love to banter and my face will never let you wonder what I’m thinking.
I most often use the lenses of Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy and Satir’s Growth model in my clinical work. I have been trained in attachment theory and much of my view on relationships is rooted in those core tenants.
